Couched Love

This is a scenario being played out in my head before I decide to answer a very simple question. Since my daughter always says that I over think things. She may have a point.

Is it intended for love or admiration

You withstand daily torture, for the pleasure of others.

Or are you enjoying the constant bombardment of the different and deafening perfumes coming from the spoils of others?

There are many secrets wrapped in your bosom of untapped tapestry.

Is this where love comes to die?

Is your name more literal than we, mere mortals, admit it to be?

Could it be so simple a notion, that love is chosen.

Or are we doomed to repeat the past of failed love?

Therefore, I respond to your question, “Do you want to sit down? ”

The only seat available is the love couch.

“No, thank you. I’ll stand. “

Yes, she is my polar opposite. Leo and Capricorn. Two leaders… Lol.. joyπŸ˜‰. You’re correct, caring for others, sometimes, forces you to put yourself on the back burner. If we are not well, we cannot care for another. Thanks for your commentπŸ‘ŒπŸ˜†πŸ˜‰

Bad experiences sometimes makes us not to risk on loving again. But those experiences makes us to be wiser and more mature.

Such a lovely poem! It sure makes you think..

  20. 04/22/2016 at 3:49 PM

Beautiful poem! Very creative yet powerful. I think it’s definitely important to not let the opinions or beliefs of other people affect you. You need to be you and do what makes you happy. Thanks for sharing this.

This poem is so amazing. Thanks for giving me a new perspective to consider!

  23. 04/22/2016 at 2:26 AM

I have 2 thoughts on it; 1. It is good that your daughter is different than your personality 2. caring for others is admirable, but don’t let it destroys you.

I’ll have to start asking myself if what I am doing is out of love or for admiration. Sometimes the lines get blurred.

  25. 04/21/2016 at 6:43 PM

Thanks a bunch Kerry. You just brought a different perspective to it for me. I didn’t see it as being powerful to stand. But, I can now see it. Thank you tremendously πŸ˜‰

This poem is very powerful! A strong message with a lot of hope. I believe there is always a light at the end of the tunnel… πŸ™‚

  29. 04/21/2016 at 1:25 PM

Brilliant poetry! I’m quite young and on the couch, but having the power to stand is admirable. Thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

  30. 04/21/2016 at 11:55 AM

Beautiful Poem! I totally agree that most of the relationship in this world dies without proper communication!

  31. 04/21/2016 at 11:33 AM

I love your poetry and this especially because is so powerful and emotional at the same time !

  32. 04/21/2016 at 11:08 AM

I agree so much Eloise. I have also experience divorce and that is where some of those familiar emotions probably came from. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Love does shine again, but avoid that couch. πŸ˜‰ Thanks a ton for reading and your thoughts.

  33. 04/21/2016 at 10:47 AM

I love poetry, it’s such a beautiful way to express emotions… Love is one of the most powerful emotions in human beings, it can cause so much joy and pain in ones life. Your poem hits home for me! my love has died on the couch, so to speak… I’m in the middle of a divorce, hopefully in the future, love will be found in my life again, with the right one!

  34. 04/21/2016 at 9:14 AM

Thank you for stopping by. Yes, it can be bittersweet at times. πŸ˜‰

  35. 04/21/2016 at 8:37 AM

This really made me think and didn’t end up where I expected it to! I think love is chosen for us, which can sometimes suck, but sometimes be beautiful πŸ™‚

  36. 04/21/2016 at 7:06 AM

I stink at interpreting poems, and I suspect that everyone has their own take on meanings, but this is lovely and it did get me thinking. I enjoyed it.

  39. 04/20/2016 at 7:16 PM

I love it. too often relationships die because of lack of interaction. Yes, they do come to die on the couch. Brava.

  40. 04/20/2016 at 6:03 PM

Thanks Ana. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that question was boggling. But, you are correct, love is not chosen, it does the choosing. πŸ˜‰

  41. 04/20/2016 at 5:47 PM

Thanks Amy, I love reading poetry too. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by

  42. 04/20/2016 at 5:30 PM

Difficult question to answer but I believe that love is not chosen but up to fate and when two paths cross that are meant to be it is destiny.
