Ignoring the ignorance


How to ignore the ignorance around you? Well, it is simply a not so simple task, especially if the ignorant one is related to you or in your space. So, the best way to not lose any more brain cells dealing with the foolishness is to remember that we cannot judge another for they do and do not know. We can only go by the way they treat us or themselves, and their parents if you can get that far in knowing them.

It is said that ‘ignorance is bliss’ but for whom is this blissful state beneficial, not the hearer may be the doer. I have gotten to the point where I have limited my circle and interactions. I am an introvert and empath and I have not mastered my social interactions which leads me to become irritated really easy and it is unfair to those who want to be around e and vice versa. Most of the time it is unavoidable but I am learning each day. There are those who do not do well with small talk or things of no consequence, I am one of those people. I enjoy having deep connective conversations with those who are willing and unafraid to share their real thoughts on a particular subject. I do not pry in other’s lives but I like to speak of something that we can learn from. Learning new things is what helps us to grow into well rounded human beings that can navigate in any circle or situation. Then there are those who pretend to navigate unfamiliar territory and ignore the fact that they are indeed ignorant to their own shortcomings and the way they are viewed in their immediate circle. Like they say ‘know your audience.’ Do not ignore the ignorance instead be deliberate in your interactions with others and learn from everyone you encounter for there is always something we do not know.

If you’re new to prompt writing, and don’t really understand how to use the prompts, please consider the following writing exercise.

Settle into your favorite place in the house with a hot drink to warm your waking bones.  Once you’ve warmed up a bit; grab your journal, a trusty pen, and a timer.  Then, set your timer for ten minutes and begin writing about one of the prompts.  Don’t worry about spelling, punctuation, neatness, or anything like that; just write!  Write about anything and everything that comes to your mind, and don’t stop until the ten minutes are up.

I often find myself writing short stories or poems during those ten minutes, but you can write about anything you like.  And don’t be alarmed if what you’ve written doesn’t quite make sense.  The whole idea behind doing this exercise is to get your mind ready and working so that you can begin your day.  Just think of it as exercise for your brain, and once you’ve done your ten minutes of writing, you’ll feel more prepared to tackle the rest of your day.
